About Energy Assessors UK
UK energy assessment is fragmented across thousands of sole traders and small firms, several accreditation schemes and at least four distinct qualifications. This site exists to make that fragmentation someone else's problem — ours.
What the service is
A matching and verification layer. You describe the property and the purpose; we identify the assessment type actually required, check candidate assessors against the official accreditation registers — name, number, qualification, current status — and return a fixed price from an assessor genuinely working your postcode. One working day, no call-centre relay, no reselling your details to five firms at once.
The verification step is the part we are stubborn about. The industry's persistent problem is not pricing, it is mismatch and fakery: domestic assessors booked onto commercial buildings, "certificates" that never reach the national register, qualifications claimed but lapsed. What we publish, and why it is free
The guides on this site — honest cost benchmarks, the survey walkthrough, preparation that actually works, and the RdSAP 10 explainer — answer the questions our inbox sees daily. Publishing them keeps the answers consistent and lets you arrive at a booking already knowing what fair looks like. If you read everything and book a local assessor directly, verified, at a sensible price: good outcome. The market working properly is the point.
Things we will tell you that cost us bookings
- If your property already has a valid EPC on the register, we say so instead of selling you a duplicate. It happens roughly weekly.
- If EPC C rules are not yet law — and in 2026 for rentals they are not — we say that too, whatever urgency someone else's marketing has manufactured.
- If your building needs a specialist rather than a generalist — complex commercial stock, listed buildings, PAS 2035 retrofit — we route you to one, including dedicated commercial assessment firms where that serves you better.
